Measuring Your Wall

Measuring Your Wall

Standard Walls

Measure the full width of your wall from edge to edge. Measure the height of your wall, excluding any baseboards and trim. And let’s be honest, how many walls are perfectly square? Therefore, we recommend that you measure both the left and right sides as the heights can often differ. If one side is shorter than the other, choose the greater of the two heights.

Sloped Walls

Measure the full width and height as you would for a standard wall, ignoring any slopes. Because who doesn’t want to avoid flashbacks of calculating angles in high school geometry? To ensure the most accurate results, your mural will be supplied as a full rectangle and the excess can easily be trimmed away during installation.

Walls with Obstacles

Measure the full width and height as you would for a standard wall, ignoring any obstacles such as windows, doors, or outlets. You will trim around the obstacles, removing any excess material during installation.

Measuring Tips

  • For the most accurate measurements, use a good metal measuring tape that is long enough to measure the entire wall.
  • You know how the old saying goes – measure twice, cut once! The same rule applies when measuring for your wallpaper or mural. We can’t stress enough the importance of double-checking your measurements.
